On our second week of design we were in the drawing room creating graphic designs trying to sell someone an idea, concept, item or emotion. We had to focus on incorporating different principles of design such as color, balance, unity, line and shape. For my first idea, I made a card with the phrase of " BeYOUtiful" which I hope inspires people to be themselves because that is what makes one the most beautiful. My second design included drawing lips on a piece of white paper and then ripping out pieces of magazine to make a mosaic within the lips. In order for this piece to look put together all of the principles of design needed to work together more so than on my beYOUtiful picture. We also have begun to finally start working on Photoshop. I have been learning different tools to use for different graphic designs. I have learned how to use multiple tools such as the lasso tool, the quick selection/magnetic selection tool, I have learned how to change colors and add colors to a picture as well as I have learned how to make multiple layers, copy, cut and paste. These tools were very helpful in my Photo-shopped piece above. I had to use multiple layers in order to add in the people on the pier and the sailboats in the background. I also changed the color scheme on this picture to make it different than the original. Although I am not proficient in Photoshop, I am excited to learn more and learn more about all of the possibilities I can do in the world of Photoshop.
Hello!
This blog is for my Graphic Design Class which I will be in for the next trimester. I am very excited to be a part of it and cannot wait to see what this class holds for me. I hope to learn more about design as well as how to edit pictures. I would not consider myself a super artsy person however, this class will help me to broaden my horizons and hopefully it will allow me to find a new interest! -Emily |
